BRIDGING COMPLIANCE: CBAM, ESG AND THE SOUTH AFRICAN METALS AND ENGINEERING SECTOR
Date: Tuesday, 8 October 2024
Venue: Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, Johannesburg
SEIFSA in collaboration with the Danish Industry (DI) will be hosting an Industry Conference on Bridging Compliance: CBAM, ESG and the South African Metals and Engineering (M&E) Sector.
Sharing expert views and opinions will be Senior Government Officials, Industry Leaders, Policymakers and Sustainability Experts who will explore the intersection of the looming Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting requirements from the European Union and how this is likely to affect the metals and engineering sector an export intensive sector that is also a heavy emitter of Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
SEIFSA’s collaboration with the DI builds on the success of last year’s Conference on Decarbonizing the Steel Value Chain that focused on long-term initiatives by industry role players aimed at enhancing sustainability within the M&E Sector.
This Conference aims to deepen understanding and readiness among M&E Sector Stakeholders and unpack the challenges and opportunities of aligning with international sustainability standards.
Through keynote presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities, the Conference will provide delegates with valuable insights into integrating sustainable practices, ensuring compliance and positioning the M&E Sector for long-term resilience and growth. Click Here to Book
